“I Want a Trade Coach!”

By admin

It is no secret that I am a Dallas Cowboys fan.  I have been a fan since I was little because my parents were fans.  I been through Roger Staubach, Danny White, Troy Aikman, Tony Romo and now Dak Prescott.  It doesn’t matter if they are winning or losing, I am still on the side of the Dallas Cowboys.  I played football, so I am more gracious when it comes to the wins and losses and who gets credit for the blame. Now that Social Media is mainstream for many of us, I am able to read your viewpoints on the team and why they lose or win.  I know that players play and coaches coach.  There is an accountability on the coach to put the right chemistry together for the team to win.  However, the coach is on the sidelines and the players are the ones that execute the game plan.

The Dallas Cowboys are no doubt, America’s Team.  It does amaze me that when the Cowboys lose, the fans want Dak Precott’s resignation.  Now that they are 3-0 everyone is like, “Pay the Man!”  What?  Last year he was the most talked about quarterback because they didn’t win the Super Bowl.  Now, that he has had success through the first 3 games of the season…everyone is on his Fan Page!  How fickle are we when it comes to our loyalty and dedication to the things that we claim to love?  How fickle are we to jump ship when someone makes a mistake or does something you don’t like?

Once again, here is a bit of transparency.  There have been people in my life who was my biggest supporters but once something happened or I did something that they didn’t approve of or they have a perception about me…then they turn into my biggest haters.  How can we as people be so fickle and so quick to change our perception about certain things?  You want the answer?  Here it is: We are supportive of people that will benefit our wants and support our needs.  As long as people are what you need them to be for YOU in your life then you are “down with the cause”, but when associating with them may cause you to suffer a little bit…then it is time to jump ship.

Last week, Jalen Ramsey of the Jacksonville Jaguars got into a tussle on the sidelines with a coach.  The next day he tweeted that he wanted a trade.  He is still under contract; he is not a free agent, but he is ready to leave Jacksonsville and start over with another team.  I don’t know how bad it is for him there especially because they are losing.  I think that he would be more gracious and willing to stay, if they are winning and favorites to win the Super Bowl.

I want people in my corner who will ride with me when I am driving an old broke down FORD or driving a brand-new Escalade.  I want people in my corner who with hang with me when I am broke or when I am able to pick up the tab.  I want people in my corner who won’t mind suffering with me or when I am on top of the world.  How many people want to change churches, change friends, change jobs when you are going through a little difficulty?  I feel a certain way that if every time something goes wrong or you endure something that you are ready to leave and “go somewhere else”.

God wants those in his corner who will love Him even when you are going through.  Even when you are in your valley.  Even when you suffer great loss.  God has been faithful to us…let us not want a trade when things are not where we want them to be.  We signed a contract with God.  Finish your contract and don’t ask for a trade!
