Day 1: Longing Like a Parched Soul for God’s Courts

The psalmist’s hunger for God’s presence isn’t polite or halfhearted—it’s a soul-deep ache, a fainting thirst. This isn’t about checking a religious box but craving the life only found where God dwells. Just as a body withers without water, our spirits shrivel without worship that pulls us into His courts. The world offers distractions, but they leave us empty. True fulfillment comes when we prioritize being where God’s beauty is revealed, where our cries meet His answer.

How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts! My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.
(Psalm 84:1-2, KJV)

Reflection: When was the last time your soul “fainted” for God’s presence like a thirst you couldn’t ignore? What distractions have dulled your hunger for His house?
