Day 1: Trusting Chairs That Creak and Cars That Cough
When we sit in pews or start engines, we assume they’ll hold us—yet we question God’s reliability. Trusting human systems feels natural, but Jeremiah warns that leaning on flesh leaves us parched like desert shrubs. True stability comes not from what we engineer but from the One who engineered our souls. Drought reveals where roots truly drink.

Thus says the Lord: Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord. He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land. (Jeremiah 17:5-6, ESV)
