Day 1: When Worship Becomes a Burden to God

Isaiah’s words cut deep: God despises religious routines that lack heart. The people offered sacrifices, observed festivals, and lifted empty prayers, yet their hands were stained with injustice. God rejected their worship not because rituals were wrong, but because their lives contradicted their liturgy. True worship intertwines reverence with righteousness, blending holy awe with holy living. When ceremony overshadows surrender, even our best efforts become noise.

“When you spread out your hands in prayer, I hide my eyes from you; even when you offer many prayers, I am not listening. Your hands are full of blood! Wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight; stop doing wrong. Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed.” (Isaiah 1:15–17, ESV)
