Day 3: Act Like You’re Living, Not Dying

In the midst of overwhelming trials, it’s easy to succumb to despair and act as if all hope is lost. However, even when depression threatens to consume us, we are called to choose life and strength. This means intentionally nourishing ourselves, both physically and spiritually, for the deliverance that God has promised. It’s about shifting our perspective from the end of a struggle to the beginning of a new walk, a new talk, and a new understanding of God’s power in our lives. Let your actions reflect the belief that God is bringing you through, not leaving you to perish.

Philippians 4:13 (ESV)
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Sometimes, after receiving a promise from God, our circumstances don’t immediately improve; in fact, they might even worsen. These periods of waiting, like a plane in a holding pattern, are not signs of God’s forgetfulness but opportunities for our faith to be refined. God uses these times to observe our attitude, our patience, and the depth of our trust in Him. Even when the storm doesn’t cease, and the situation remains unchanged, our steadfastness reveals the true measure of our reliance on His timing and power.

James 1:2-4 (ESV)
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

Trusting in God means believing that He sees your pain, records your tears, and will never leave you to face your trials alone, but will walk with you through every valley and storm.

Day 1: Faith That Endures Through Trials

True faith is not proven in comfort but in adversity; it is in the furnace of trials, storms, and hardships that faith is refined and made unshakable. Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who faced the fiery furnace, believers are called to trust God’s power and authority even when deliverance is not guaranteed. Their declaration—“our God whom we serve is able to deliver us…but if not, we will not serve your gods”—shows a faith that is steadfast regardless of the outcome. This kind of faith does not waver when circumstances are dire but stands firm, knowing that God is sovereign and able, whether or not He chooses to intervene in the way we desire.

Daniel 3:16-18 (ESV)
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. God never allows us to be tested beyond what we can bear, and in every trial, He provides the strength and support we need to endure. Like a spotter helping a weightlifter, God stands ready to lift our burdens when they become too heavy for us. Even when Satan tries to rob us of our joy and worship, we can trust that God is faithful, and He will bring us through every challenge stronger than before.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
