Day 2: Sparrows and Swallows—Finding Home at the Altar

Even the smallest, most restless creatures find safety in God’s house. Sparrows—deemed worthless—nest near His altar. Swallows, always flitting, finally rest there. The temple isn’t for the polished or perfect but for the worn, the wandering, the ones society overlooks. In His house, the “unworthy” are crowned with purpose. If birds find shelter there, how much more can broken people find healing?

Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young; even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.
(Psalm 84:3, KJV)

Reflection: Where have you felt “worthless” or restless? How might dwelling in God’s house redefine your sense of belonging?
